New professional learning resources for teachers and expands global education grant program launches by Apple

Apple is honoring educators with special collections and offerings across all of its services as well as the launch of brand-new, free classroom resources today to assist educators and students in embracing creativity in all lessons. In addition, the company announced a significant expansion of its ground-breaking education grant program to 100 additional schools and communities, providing free grant-funded STEAM programming to students and educators on six continents.
Apple has been a dedicated educational pioneer for the past four decades. The company has provided millions of students and educators with cutting-edge technology and professional learning resources through its work in education. This has given them the tools they need to create new worlds, connect in interesting ways, and pursue jobs of the future. Apple is also releasing its first-ever Education Impact Report, which provides a snapshot of the company's efforts to support educators and students worldwide, to demonstrate the scope of its efforts.
Lisa Jackson, Apple's vice president of Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives, stated, "We have always believed in the power of education to open new doors and give people the tools they need to build a better, more equitable world." We are thrilled to expand our education work into even more communities, and we are blown away to see how tomorrow's coders, creators, innovators, and leaders are using Apple technology and resources to make their impact known today.
Susan Prescott, Apple's vice president of Education and Enterprise Marketing, stated, "We're inspired by the incredible work coming out of classrooms and communities across the globe, and the myriad of ways Apple products like Mac and iPad empower learners to create and build on their passions." Our brand-new Creative Activities for preschoolers and elementary students not only provide educators with quick tools to engage students of all ages, but they also make learning enjoyable and simple.

With funding from Apple’s Community Education Initiative, Houston Community College’s annual information technology summer camp has introduced more than 2,500 students to a variety of subjects that incorporate coding using Apple technology.
